Appointments
Planning your visit
01How do I request an appointment?+
Send a text, email, or Facebook message with your name, vehicle year, make and model, and a short description of the concern. Andy will reply to confirm whether the work is a good fit and discuss weekend availability.
02When are appointments available?+
Service is available Friday through Sunday by appointment. Monday through Thursday is closed. Availability depends on the repair, parts, and time needed.
03Where is the service location?+
The address is not posted publicly. Service location and arrival details are provided directly after an appointment is confirmed.
04Can I arrive without an appointment?+
No. Please contact Andy first. Appointments help ensure there is enough time, space, and any needed parts for your vehicle.
05Can I wait, or do I need to drop off my vehicle?+
We prefer that you drop off your vehicle so you can relax at home while the repair is completed. Andy can help coordinate a ride from the shop and back for pickup; please mention that you will need a ride when scheduling so the details can be arranged in advance.
Services
Repairs and diagnostics
01What types of work do you accept?+
Common maintenance, oil changes, brake work, tune-ups, diagnostics, electrical concerns, cooling-system work, light engine work, steering and suspension repairs, limited A/C service, and many general repairs are considered. A/C service is limited to system charging or top-off when appropriate; refrigerant recovery is not offered. Contact Andy first to discuss the vehicle and concern. Every job is accepted case by case based on the vehicle, repair, equipment, parts, and available time.
02What work is not offered?+
Full engine rebuilds, transmission repair or replacement, tire mounting, wheel alignment, and A/C refrigerant recovery are not offered. A/C service is limited to system charging or top-off when appropriate; contact Andy first to discuss the vehicle and concern.
03How does diagnostic service and pricing work?+
To help complete your repair as quickly as possible, we prefer that drivability, warning-light, electrical, or other uncertain concerns are diagnosed by a repair shop or dealership before your appointment. Please send Andy the written diagnosis or estimate in advance so the recommended repair can be reviewed and parts can be ordered ahead of time. If diagnosis is still needed, diagnostic time is billed at $50 per hour. If Andy cannot determine the cause of the issue, you will not be charged a diagnostic fee.
04Does a trouble code tell you exactly what part to replace?+
Not always. A trouble code identifies the system that detected a problem. It is used as a starting point, followed by checks intended to narrow down the likely cause before a repair is recommended.
05Do you work on every vehicle?+
No repair is automatically accepted. Cars, SUVs, and light-duty trucks are considered based on the specific vehicle and requested work. Specialty, diesel, heavily modified, or unusual vehicles should be discussed before scheduling.
Payment & parts
What to expect
01Which payment methods are accepted?+
Cash, Zelle, Venmo, and personal check are accepted.
02What is your labor rate?+
The general repair labor rate is $100 per hour. Estimates are based on the expected time for the specific repair using commonly used industry labor-time guides. Diagnostic testing is billed separately at $50 per hour when needed. You will receive an estimate before work begins, no additional work will be performed without your approval, and no diagnostic fee is charged if we cannot determine the cause of the issue.
03Can I supply my own parts?+
Yes. Customer-supplied parts are accepted for appropriate repairs, but they receive a 30-day labor-only warranty. No warranty is provided on the customer-supplied part itself.
04How quickly do parts arrive?+
We typically provide three estimate options using a mix of local-store and ordered parts when available. Local-store parts often cost more but may be available the same day. Ordered parts usually take about 4–5 days to arrive and are often significantly less expensive. All parts ordered by Andy's meet OEM or OEM-equivalent standards. Availability and delivery times can vary by vehicle, and your selected option will be confirmed before the repair is scheduled.
05Will I know the expected cost before work starts?+
Yes. We strive to be transparent: Andy will explain what was found, discuss the proposed repair, and provide an estimate before work begins. No repair or additional work will ever be performed without your approval first. Sometimes disassembly or further testing reveals an issue that could not reasonably be identified during the initial inspection. If that happens, work will pause while Andy explains the new finding, discusses any change in cost, and waits for your approval before proceeding.
Warranty
Coverage after repair
01What warranty comes with OEM or premium aftermarket parts?+
Repairs using OEM or premium aftermarket parts include a 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty on parts and labor, whichever comes first.
02What warranty comes with standard aftermarket parts?+
Repairs using standard aftermarket parts include a 6-month or 6,000-mile warranty on parts and labor, whichever comes first.
03What is covered when I supply the parts?+
Customer-supplied parts receive a 30-day labor-only warranty. No parts warranty is provided.
04Are there warranty limitations?+
Warranty coverage applies only to the original repair and is non-transferable. Failures caused by misuse, accidents, or unrelated system issues are not covered.
